Have an Impact on the Future

If you have been influencing the next generation of young Christians with the good news of Jesus and would like to increase your effectiveness, then the Youth Leadership major is for you. You might want to do this in a church or in a camp, school, or other youth setting as a volunteer or in a paid position. We can help you become more successful.

The Youth Leadership program has four sections to provide you with an excellent educational balance. Classes in the Theoretical Foundations section are designed to give you a solid Biblical and theological understanding of ministry to youth and their families. Human Formation classes will teach you how to nurture faith in young lives and how to help young people and their families through crises. Methodology is the nuts and bolts, where you will learn to lead people, manage ministry, and plan strategically with purpose and vision. Finally, the Practicum component of the program will provide hands-on ministry experience, combined with a course to help debrief for clarity and growth.

It’s a great balance, but it’s still only a portion of the program. At Providence College every student receives a strong foundation in Biblical Studies and the Liberal Arts in order to approach ministry from a breadth of knowledge.
