You will be part of an exciting program in Worship Studies which appease to musicians and those who are committed to thinking intentionally about worship and liturgical practices. The strength of this program is its holistic approach to worship as a pursuit and as a vocation.
- Bible and Theology
Explore what worship means from a Biblical perspective and how our worship practices are influenced by what we believe about the Trinitarian God and the world around us. See how theology has shaped our liturgical practices in the past and how the past has shaped the present.
- Music and Fine Arts
Develop and hone musical skills with our excellent Fine Arts faculty. Learn about how music functions in a worship setting and discover how to incorporate the arts, such as drama, the visual arts, and technology into corporate worship.
- Leadership Development and Communication
Learn how to be a leader, both on and off the worship team. Examine issues in leadership, conflict resolution, and volunteer management. Develop skills that will enable you to communicate with clarity and meaning.
- Practical Opportunities
Get hands-on experience designing and creating student chapel services, and develop practical leadership skills in Praise and Worship clinics. Participate in Providence’s acclaimed touring ensembles, ranging from Praise and Worship bands to choral, vocal, and instrumental groups.
