The Language of the Soul

The music program at Providence is designed for students at all levels – from the beginner who has never taken a music course or lesson, to the advanced student who has taken years of music studies. Along with a core music curriculum of Music Theory, Musicianship and Music History, the music program offers students the opportunity to study many different types of music including contemporary, popular, world and classical music.

Whether you are a vocalist or an instrumentalist, the music faculty will make sure that you get the proper individual instruction on your main instrument along with the academic courses that form the core of a music education – Music History, Music Theory and Performance Skills. In addition to the core musical skills, students will participate in worship and learn about Music and Christianity- whether it be music for the church, the history of Christian worship or being a Christian musician in a largely secular music industry.
