Jan 17, 2012. Providence University College is delighted to announce that Jeremy Funk has agreed to join our faculty this year as a new Assistant Professor of Business Administration.

“Having Jeremy join our faculty is exciting for us,” said Dr. August Konkel, President of Providence, in making the announcement. “He is an experienced business leader. He also brings Christian higher education capabilities as he currently chairs the Board of Governors at Trinity Western University. And he is completing his Doctorate in Strategy at the Asper School of Business. He is exactly whom we need to help us continue to build our Business program.”

We believe that faith has a vital role to play in business life. And we believe that business skills can play an important role in our faith communities. Our challenge is to bring those two worlds together in a way that benefits and enriches both.

Starting Small

We emphasize the application of business ideas specifically to small and family businesses.

  • Some students started their own micro-enterprises in high school.

  • Other students learned about business around the kitchen table from parents who started and run their own businesses.

  • Still others come to the program thinking about starting their own business when they graduate.

Even if you don’t fit into any of these categories, chances are your first job after you graduate will be in small business. That’s where the jobs are, and that’s who is creating the most new business opportunities.

Finishing Big

Emphasizing small business doesn’t mean lowering your horizons.

You will learn the skills you need to succeed in all kinds of business.

  • We teach from a small buisness perspective, but the skills you learn you'll use even in larger corporations.

  • Our international student body brings a wealth of perspectives on how business is done in Canada and in other parts of the world.

  • Our courses are recognized by universities and transfer easily to many other institutions.
