Location

Providence University College and Seminary is located one hour north of the Canada/U.S.A. border in the town of Otterburne, Manitoba. It is approximately 30 miles south of the city of Winnipeg (population 675,000), which offers a large array of restaurants, movies, shopping malls, and sporting events such as football, baseball and hockey.

Otterburne

Otterburne is a small farming community located along the Rat River in the midst of farm fields, oak forests, and pastoral countryside. As a student at Providence, you will be able to enjoy the peacefulness of living in the country and also have access to the city of Winnipeg which is a 30 minute drive north. In addition, the surrounding communities of St. Pierre-Jolys, Niverville, Kleefeld, and Steinbach offer many restaurants, churches, and shopping opportunities.

American students definitely benefit with Providence's location one hour north of the Canada/U.S.A. border (above Minnesota and North Dakota). Enjoy the economic benefits of studying in Canada while at the same time easily returning home for holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, or if you just begin to miss some of the familiarity of home. On the weekends some students enjoy spending the day in Grand Forks, North Dakota, a city of approximately 50,000 people, which offers some of the best of American culture.
