For many international students, life at Providence College and Seminary is very different from life at home. Here are some of the things you can expect.

  • Expect it to be quiet:  Providence is located in a rural area which is surrounded by farmland. Life is very peaceful here.
  • Expect it to be cold in winter and warm in summer: temperatures in this part of Manitoba can be colder than -30 C in winter and up to +30 C in summer.
  • Expect to have a great experience: 16% of our student population are international students, so there are intercultural programs and many opportunities to meet local Canadian families.

Here is what some students have said:

"People are very friendly. You get to feel at home very easily and quickly. Staff are very humble and friendly and very willing to help. People love God and are willing to help each other in study. And in the dorm it's fun!"
— Susan from Kenya

"People are really friendly, and they have the desire to help you whenever you need it. It's really a good place to make friends."
— Ranran from China

"My relationship with God has increased. It's a good atmosphere to fellowship with other Christians. The profs are very good. They are very encouraging."
— Simon from Ghana

"It's different. The godliness of my profs, combined with their scholarship-dynamite."
— Jaison from India
